Empowering Women in Chemistry: A Global Networking Event
Owing to the international year of the periodic table (IYPT), and as part of the celebration of the centenary of IUPAC (International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry), a Global Women Breakfast will be celebrated on the 12th of February in almost 200 locations and more than 40 countries. You can see the map and more info clicking here.
We (Samantha and I) are organizing the event in Sheffield, at the University of Sheffield, with the collaboration of the Department of Chemistry, and the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC). The event is free to attend and we have prizes for best oral and poster presentations. Moreover, there will be a raffle…but that’s a surprise!
You can access our website for the event: WomChemSheffield. And if you can’t attend, don’t worry, you can follow the event through twitter (@WIupac100). So if you want to contribute, you can share your opinion through the social networks: you can send a short video or write a post about the role of women in chemistry, about your experience as a woman or about the IYPT. You can follow the event through the different twitter accounts of the different locations.
Only one thing left to say: thank you very much to all the people who are helping us with this. We really appreciate it.
Join us! We are waiting for you!
